Vic Moore Back Home and Recovered From Effects Gas Attack

Fully recovered from the effects of being gassed while at the front in the Argonne region in France, and in better shape physically than he ever has been before in his life, Victor "Umpie" Moore, former

High School athlete, is home again.

The Sanduskian was serving as a member of the Co. A. 308th Engineers, when he was gassed while assisting in taking photographs.  After being on board a ship ready to sail for the United States, Moore was compelled to return to Bordeauz when he was taken ill.  He was placed in a hospital but released to sail for this country.

Moore said being gassed caused a peculiar sensation in the throat and lungs, which had a depressing effect, Moore was detained in a camp in this country because his original papers were lost.  He weights 178 pounds now, although he tipped the scaled at more than 200 when he entered the service.

Among Sanduskians seen by Moore on the other side were: Lee Staffler, Herber Textxor, Ben Niehm, Frank Ritzenthaler, Louis Ritter, and Ralph Carney.
